Competitive Vs. Recreational

Recreational gymnastics is just that–it is mainly to get exposure to the world of gymnastics and have fun while doing so. Our recreational gymnastics is available for babies through adults with a variety of age-appropriate fun, gymnastic lessons. Competitive gymnastics involves intense training and refining skills to progress through a series of levels with the hopes of maybe becoming the next Biles.

Elite Level Of Competition

Competitive gymnastics requires a certain level of dedication to compete on an elite level. To become a “total package athlete,” your child has to be physically strong, mentally stable, emotionally sound, as well as have a good support system at home and the gym. Levels 1-3 gymnastics is specifically to get competition ready. Our VEGA Gymnastics Team offers a National Developmental Program for Levels 1-10 and Xcel Levels Bronze through Diamond to perfect your child’s skills.

A Life Choice

Competitive gymnastics is more than just an extracurricular sport, it is a lifestyle choice. It is a choice that will affect your entire family. Some competitive teams require a contract with certain expectations for both gymnasts and families.

Athletic Enjoyment

Both competitive and recreational gymnasts participate because they love the sport, but competitive gymnastics is a whole different world. Competitive gymnastics can be very challenging for the gymnast both physically, mentally, and emotionally. Making sure your child has the best positive coach for their gymnastics can make all the difference for the advancement of your child’s skills.
