4 Different Gymnastic Exercises to Help You Stay Healthy
Gymnastics is an excellent way to stay healthy and maintain a fit body as it involves a range of movements that can help you build strength, flexibility, and coordination. However, at Virginia Elite Gymnastics Academy, we understand that backflips and tucks aren’t for everyone. That’s why we put together this list of basic gymnastic exercises that can give you great health benefits without pushing your body too hard.

Planks
Planking is a full-body workout as it requires you to hold your body in a straight line and engage your core, legs, arms, and back. Planks can be done in a variety of ways including on your side and single-legged and is a great exercise to help you build strength, balance, and stability.

V-Ups
V-Ups are an effective core exercise that involves you lying on your back and lifting your legs and torso simultaneously. This exercise helps to strengthen and tone your abdominals as well as your lower back, helping to improve your posture and reduce back pain.

Scapular Push-Ups
Scapular push-ups are a great upper-body exercise that targets your shoulder muscles. This exercise involves starting in a high plank position and then lowering your chest to the ground before pushing back up to the starting position. This exercise is excellent for improving shoulder stability and overall strength.

Ring Rows
Ring rows are an excellent exercise for strengthening your back muscles and improving your upper body posture. This exercise involves holding onto two rings and pulling your chest up towards the rings while keeping your core engaged and your legs straight.
The exercises listed above are all excellent choices for improving your overall health and fitness, and can be easily adapted to suit all levels of experience. Try them at home or join one of our Virginia Elite Gymnastics Academy classes to ensure you maintain proper form.
